SGR SPUR ON THE COASTAL REGION

In the coastal  region  we have seen the SGR freight service killing the economy coast region. Firstly, the government  lost more than sh126 billion in revenue in one year from Mombasa county since the introduction  of the freight trains. Whereas, the coastal county is at economic decay point with CFs long distance  tracks and transport related business such as fuelling and service stations mostly  affected. SGR which has been billed as the biggest  transport  infrastructure  project  in the countrys history  is expected to haul close to nine million tonnes of cargo to make a profit of Sh 5.08 billion a year, averaging sh 424 million per month,compared with 990,488 tonnes carried in the first year when SGR made a loss of Sh 10billion. THE UNSEEN

I am a student at the  Technical University of Mombasa pursuing a course in Diploma in mass communication. I joined the university in September 2018 with a high expectation of persuing my course very well. I found the Environment of the university so conducive for learning. I was able to meet my classmates we were going to pursue the same course with. We interacted very well with each knowing each others name, exchanging contacts the interaction was definitely good. So far,i have now adapted with the institution, knowing all my lectures who taught me from the first year until now am in my last semester. The going has been sometimes tough but life has to move on. I have make friends from different departments persuing other courses. Generally, the campus life has taught me a lot in this life.Why am i saying this because their are some friends in the University who will not help you.They will advice you go clubbing with them,drinks alcohol and do all those weird things wit...
